Amie Knight writes beautiful romance novels and she appeals to a wide range of readers. Her words are stunning, and they paint a fantasy so eloquently with each book she writes that readers are left hollow when they reach the end of each story. Amie Knights work is always unique; quiet honestly her books will not only captivate your mind but capture your heart. And having read her previously release books, I was still left speechless when I reached the conclusion of An Imperfect Heart.

An Imperfect Heart is my favorite story that Amie has written. It’s got very serious undertones, as the heroine Kelly is pregnant with a child that will need to undergo extensive and repeated heart surgeries. As a mother who had pregnancy complications, An Imperfect Heart brought me to my knees wondering where and what was going to happen next. I won’t lie, there were moments that I struggled with the story because it brought my own history to mind. The story is incredibly intense one moment and then lightened by the repartee that is a given in stories that Amie Knight writes. I cried and held my own children a little longer appreciating them all over again. Yet, as serious as the medical problems that Kelly and Hope faced… this story also brought laughter and heat. The banter between Anthony and Kelly had me laughing out loud. And the heat… wow, the heat… while in the present, the story is a slow burn romance, but An Imperfect Heart reunites Anthony and Kelly after a decade apart. And the times when they recall the past?! Yeah… Those were SCORCHING!

Amie Knight definitely knows how to write a romance that is going to leave readers in love with her characters and the story they tell. Kelly is sassy and spunky. She is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the life of her child, regardless of the cost to herself. Something about the way she is written makes her a character that will stick with you after the story is over and I personally felt extremely connected to her. Anthony is much the same. A man who wears bowties to make his pediatric patients smile… A man who regardless of time and distance holds Kelly as his one true love… A man who falls in-love with the child Kelly carries, regardless of the child’s parentage. **breathy sigh** As a hero, Anthony is a little eccentric, but I loved that about him. The story itself is beautiful and unique… it’s perfectly paced and well written. And my only complaint for the book would be how long Anthony to discuss his secrets with Kelly… I felt it was unrealistic and IRL would have severely hindered any likelihood at a ‘second chance’ in a relationship.

Thank you for reading my review of Amie Knight’s An Imperfect Heart. I hope that you love it as much as I did. An Imperfect Heart is an incredible journey and an achingly beautiful romance – my favorite Amie Knight book to date.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
