The Baby Maker by Lili Valente – 4 Stars

The Baby Maker by Lili Valente is ohhhh, sooooo delicious! Lili Valente always releases stories that will melt your heart and your panties. I think of her books to date that I have read, Lili’s latest, The Baby Maker is my favorite. In this all new, sexy standalone rom-com, readers get to meet Dylan Hunter – who will quickly steal their hearts much like he steals Emma’s. Emma offers Dylan a deal he can’t refuse. In exchange for the land his family needs, he will provide stud services to help Emma conceive. This sweet and sexy rom-com is the perfect diversion after a long day at work, or an escape from reality when your kinds are driving you crazy.

I had several things I loved about The Baby Maker. The banter between the Emma and Dylan was funny and enduring at the same time. The sexy times in this book were top tier! Lili Valente writes romance that teases the reader with a plethora of ammunition: Sassy, Sweet, Sexy, and Silly. How can you go wrong with that combination? Nobody writes romance quite like Lili Valente. Emma and Dylan are two of my favorite characters she’s written. Lili does an amazing job with giving her characters depth and chemistry. Dylan was a little off during the sexy times…a little romantic and not so much the virile man he is outside of the bedroom. Otherwise, I love that Emma is her own woman and really the only thing that she still longs for is a baby.

What I didn’t love may seem silly but I want to provide an honest review. Dylan was willing to impregnate Emma in exchange for land…and her moving away with their child so he didn’t face the reminder of his actions. I had a tough time liking Dylan when he quickly made a bargain like this. Otherwise, I loved everything about Dylan. Of course, you can expect Dylan to be redeemed because HEA always comes in one form or another when you read a romance. Additionally, cover art for The Baby Maker didn’t fit the story realistically. Don’t get me wrong, the cover model is gorgeous, but somehow he is not what I pictured as Dylan. Plus, the image just didn’t seem to fit the story. It’s attention grabbing for sure and that’s usually the reason cover models and images are picked.

Overall, I give The Baby Maker 4 stars. I really enjoyed the book with the exception of the few miscellaneous issues that I have already mentioned. I really think readers will love this book and should one-click it right away and get lost in all things Lili Valente and The Baby Maker.
