Suddenly Forbidden was quite simply a spellbinding story of epic proportions by Ella Fields. It came as no surprise to me that I enjoyed this story as much as I did because over the past several months, I have read several books by Ella Fields and I find myself in awe of her skills as an author. In Suddenly Forbidden, we meet childhood friends Quinn and Daisy evolve into young lovers who face the impossible when they’re still too young to change their circumstances. In this second chance romance, we get glimpses of their pasts through overwhelming moments that truly forged a bond of forever and always. When the unthinkable happens the young lovers are split apart. Now two years later, Daisy has kept all her promises to Quinn…only to discover that Quinn has forgotten all his and moved on with her best friend.
This story literally contains ALL THE FEELS. You will be left breathless over the complete heartache these two face, again and again. Truly, I love good angsty reads, and this book was one of my all time favorites. Yet, I want to stress this book has more then just angst… You will swoon over the love story that is Quinn and Daisy. You will be captivated by the secondary characters as much as the Hero and Heroine. You will want to throat punch Alexis (or maybe that’s just me?!?!) You will laugh and cry equally. And I promise you will want to read this book non-stop from the second you pick it up until the second you read the very last sentence. Since I was blessed to receive an early copy of this book, I actually had time to read it through from stop to start…TWICE! and I totally took advantage of that fact.
Other things that I felt were note worthy about this book…the PLOT! The plot was outstanding!! And original. Ella must have put her blood, sweat, and tears into giving readers a love story that would grab their hearts and never let go! Even having read through the book twice, I went into it with more anticipation and delight then even the first time – and I was giddy about getting a chance to read it right away! I loved that Ella wrote this in duel POV because I was pissed (absolutely pissed!) at Quinn for moving on. Even knowing it was coming because the blurb said so. Without the duel POV, without having a front row seat to his perspective, I am not sure I could have gotten past his shenanigans. I loved him… then I loathed him…and ultimately, I felt he was the most amazing example of a book boyfriend that we, the readers, could ask for from the authors we love. Daisy, on the other hand, is impossible to do anything but love. Yes, she’s inexperienced and equal parts naïve and young. The disconnect between her and Quinn lies just at much at her feet as his to start. But it’s overwhelmingly obvious that she will hold Quinn and their love close to her heart forever and always. The secondary characters are also awesome, and I am desperate to discover if they are going to get their own books because I for one will be JUMPING at a chance to read them. I’d go so far as to stalk Ella Fields on social media to discover whether this is in the works for the near future. (**scoffs because I already do**)
My one complaint – and seriously, that’s a stretch – is that Daisy is just 18 to Quinn’s 19 in this story. Yet, let me state for the record that in order for certain plot twist to be effective, Ella Fields hands were tied with this technicality! So again, it’s really a stretch to call it a complaint but if you’re reading my blog for honest reviews, I am pointing this out.
If you want to read a breathtaking second chance romance, that’s extremely well written and will leave you guessing right until the last sentence…Buy Suddenly Forbidden. You will not regret the purchase and whether Ella Fields is a new author or old favorite you will fall as deeply in love with Quinn and Daisy as I did. And on the off chance that Ella reads through individual reviews, I would love to say that I just can not wait for whatever comes next…you are sincerely an amazing author and I LOVE your stories!
