Resurrection by Siobhan Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I. FLOVED. RESURRECTION!!!!
He says he hates me, and he looks at me sometimes like he wants to rip my insides out and hang me from my entrails upside down. But I know he feels the intense chemistry between us too, because other times, he blatantly undresses me with his eyes and his dark, lust-fueled gaze speaks to all the naughty things he wants to do to my body.
Siobhan Davis is a master storyteller whom I’ve come to include among the top tier of absolute favorite authors I have. I never miss her work and make time regularly to read those stories I might have missed before I found her, as well as to reread (and reread again) my very favorite books. Her writing is crafty, skilled and unapologetically sexy…and her foray into dark romance over the last year has literally been at the very top of my most anticipated reads every single time. Resurrection was DELICIOUS! I. FLOVED. IT. SOOOOOOOOOO. MUCH!!! It’s very dark, gritty and left me both raw and in awe of her writing—which happens to be incredibly versatile and unquestionably unique! The storyline is face-paced, flawless, exceptionally entertaining and left me guessing from beginning to end…well, to the cliffhanger anyways. 😉 And holy shit did that cliffhanger leave me reeling! So much so that I’ve already read Resurrection twice and it’s only been out a little over two weeks. (Yes, this review is late, although I was gifted a bloggers copy, family matters kept me from reviewing on time, much to my shame.) This is a RH, Enemies to Lovers, Bully Romance that I can see myself reading again and again. It was unpredictable and the heroine has me so intrigued that I’m still replaying the story in my mind, looking for details that I missed or coming to new conclusions. Since I’ve read multiple books since this release—as I read a book a day—that should tell you to buy this book on that merit alone… but make sure you’re good with dark romance and darker, gritty themes because nothing about this book is a cookie-cutter, cutesy romance. Resurrection was super sexy, and I can’t wait to watch the story continue in Rebellion, book two of The Sainthood – Boys of Lowell High. Buy. This. Book. Read it now so that you read it before Rebellion releases and you’re farther behind!!!
