Oh Wow! Claire Kingsley’s Reckless Miles is my favorite book in the Miles Family Series… Hell, it’s my favorite book this week!!! Claire delivers an outstanding romance that had me cracking up while my heart squeezed painfully. Reckless Miles is the third book in The Miles Family Series and I have long anticipated its release because I LOVE Cooper! I had no idea after finishing Forbidden Miles (Miles Family Book 2) whom Claire Kingsley would decide the lucky lady that would snag Cooper was, but damn, was I anticipating an epic story! And Claire Kingsley did not disappoint.

The Story/Writing:
Reckless Miles was outstanding. Truly, I couldn’t have enjoyed the storyline or characters more. I really was hysterically laughing while my heart ached for Amelia. Just wait for the paintball or Wyatt scenes… see if you aren’t dying—I ended up falling off my couch I was laughing so hard! The ‘drama’ that the Miles family undergoes in this book is a continuation of what started with Broken Miles and for that reason, I do recommend you read this series in the correct reading order—Broken Miles, Forbidden Miles, Reckless Miles. That said, Claire Kingsley is a skilled author well versed in writing a plot for Reckless Miles that could technically be read as a standalone. In addition to the Miles family drama, introducing new blood to the family—ie Amelia—allowed Claire Kingsley to open up a unique and entertaining romance. The twists in this story were a direction that I didn’t see Cooper or Amelia facing until they were laid bare. The storyline is lite in angst, sexy and sweet. Its pace is fairly consistent and kept me entertained from start to finish. I started this book at almost 11:00 pm and stayed up til I was finished cause the time flew by and it was too awesome to even consider waiting to complete the book! Reckless Miles is well written and told in duel perspectives so that you’ll really connect with Cooper and Amelia. Additionally, I just love this family. I am at the point that Leo’s book could be released tomorrow and it’s nowhere near soon enough. I’ve been eager for his story since I read Broken Miles so it’s one of my most anticipated reads at this point.

The Characters:
Claire Kingsley brilliantly wrote a series where with each book you will read, your ardor for the characters grows. I love that it’s a series, so we can revisit those who have already had their chance at a HEA. In the Miles family, Cooper is the fun-loving albeit unpredictable brother. He’s a live wire that has had me dying on the floor with laughter in each book and I truly couldn’t wait to see what heroine would bring his notorious rogue to his knees. He loves with his whole heart but settling down with one woman wasn’t on his radar – that is until Chase (best friend) married Brynn, his sister, and Zoe (sister-in-law and best friend) gave birth to his nephew. He’s in constant motion, mischievous and craziness has endeared Cooper to me from the minute I started reading the Miles Family Series. Yes, he’s a bit of a manwhore, but not malicious in his intent – he treats ladies like ladies, he just enjoys everything about sex. Enter Amelia Hale. Virgin. Jilted bride. In need of solace, Cooper is everything that Amelia needs, even if she never knew she needed it. She understands his crazy and calms the fidgety and restless soul… and Cooper supplies her a second chance at life, one that includes the saccharinity that hers has lacked. Their chemistry is sexy and sweet. And I for one was so happy to see them both get a beautiful HEA!

 

 

I totally recommend you get your hands on a copy of Reckless Miles. If you’re new to Claire Kingsley, you’re in for a treat and if you’re a longtime fan, you know how awesome her books can be!
