K.K. Allen’s Center of Gravity is spectacular! My Rating: 5 of 5 Stars

 

K.K. Allen is an incredibly talented author whose books never fail to captivate me. I fell in love with her words from the very minute I read my first of her books, and that love continues to grow with each new book she releases. I find that every book I’ve gotten my hands on is extremely well written with meticulous attention to detail – I can’t think of editing mistake or timeline mix-up in any of the advance review copies that I have had the pleasure to read. While I almost always read a book a day for Spellbound Stories, I rarely have the chance to grab something off that’s been released previously by an author. That said, I make time to read (and reread) K.K. Allen’s backstock whenever I can because she just writes fantastic stories—stories that are sinfully sexy, with outstanding plots and characters. Stories that stick with you long after the last pages have been read and Center of Gravity is just one example of these brilliant stories.

Center of Gravity was an amazing journey that follows Lex as she chases her dreams of dancing professionally. Everything seems to be aligning until she meets Theo, a choreographer with a chip on his shoulder larger than his extensive (and elite) resume. The pair are drawn together by a chemistry neither can deny—even though they certainly try. When the chance of a lifetime comes along for Lex, she signs a contract to dance for one of the largest stars in the music industry. Yet, that contract has stipulations that neither Theo or Lex can uphold. Center of Gravity is a bit of a slow burn, but the build-up is delicious and the chemistry-on and off the dance floor–between Theo and Lex is sexy as hell. I loved that this sports romance centers around dancing because I’ve read very few books in this sub-genre where this is a foundation for the romance. It gives Center of Gravity an original flare that I treasured, especially since I was once a dancer as well. Romance is written for those of us that are dreamers, and what better way to dream then indulging in a storyline that you can relate to on some level!?!

Another reason I found Center of Gravity so incredible was the topics KK Allen wove into the plot. The book targets issues like the importance of believing in oneself and self-worth, peer acceptance and physical assault. These can be challenging when addressed individually, so I truly delighted in the skill K.K. Allen showed by weaving them together because I felt they enriched the storyline. Moreover, they allowed for superb character growth while also enhancing the reader’s ability to identify with the characters. Center of Gravity will suck you right in, and the characters will own your heart… much like they did mine. You can’t go wrong with anything K.K. Allen writes so whether you are new to her, or a stalker like I am, Center of Gravity is exactly what you need to lose yourself in… one-click this gem immediate so you can see exactly why I love Center of Gravity and K.K. Allen.
