I. FLOVE. This. Book!!! Wow! I own several previous titles by Meagan Brandy already since she’s been on my radar for a bit, but this is actually the first time I’ve had the opportunity to read one of her books. Not by choice, but as a blogger my schedule is TIGHT and rarely do I get to veer from that. After reading The Boys of Brayshaw High? OMG! I’m soo hooked!!! And #SorryNotSorry Meagan Brandy, you will now have a super stalker on your hands.

“Watch out, Raven. Your little stunt today may have gotten the guys you’re used to off your back, but for these guys? All you did was paint the mark brighter.”

Now, as a rule, I am not a fan of YA books unless they are done right, and this book? It was done right on every level. This book is angsty A.F. and every encounter between The Boys—Maddoc (YUM!!!), Royce, and Cap—and Raven was dramatic, but in a way that just draws you deeper and deeper into the story. This isn’t a sweet story, and in fact, deals with some serious issues. Raven was feisty as hell and tough as nails. I seriously FLOVED her hardcore… The Boys? OMG. That was some seriously delicious heroes… Their relationship as brothers is about being family by choice and not birth. Their loyalty to one another unwavering. And I found Meagan Brandy plotlines surprising me at every turn as the nuances of complex characters were established within the story. The relationship between Raven and The Boys is a huge arch of the plot and as the story unfolds, that will become clear. Raven and Maddoc’s chemistry was intense. It was also like watching—or in this case, reading—constant fourplay because every. Single. Encounter just amps you up. It made the story sexy A.F. Now, the seXXXy times were hot, no lie, but you’ll have to suffer for a hot minute before they happen because this story is a slow burn read. BOBH is the first of a duet so it’s setting the stage for book two, Trouble at Brayshaw High, which is scheduled to release in the Spring of 2019. Be forewarned, it does end on a cliffhanger. And what a cliffhanger it is! Seriously, Meagan is going to owe a lot of readers new kindles after they chuck them when BOBH ends abruptly. A note about me and cliffhangers. I hate them! HATE THEM WITH A PASSION! But damn, sometimes you have to give an author credit for their skills… and Meagan Brandy certainly has them. She will have you hooked before you finish the first chapter. And good luck walking away from this story. My kids got pizza two meals in a row because I didn’t want to put my kindle down. [Thank God for Delivery! 😉]

In the end, the only way to walk away… is to make sure there’s nothing you’re reluctant to leave behind. To feel is to follow. And I’ll pave my path along no one’s steps but my own.

There was a lot of this book that I just loved. It was a nonstop rush in my opinion. The characters really grabbed my attention and Raven and the Boys progression? Well done. Raven’s characters history broke my heart. And I have a feeling we’ve just got the tip of the ice burg, you know? Meagan did a phenomenal job weaving this story together and as horrific as it is that I have to wait for the second book to release, I also can’t help but applaud her for the creativity and truly unpredictable nature of this story. I couldn’t give this book less than 5 STARS if I tried. Grab your copy NOW! Don’t wait for your first Meagan Brandy read like I did. Ugghhhh, I regret that soooo much right now!
