Ache for You is my first book by J.T. Geissinger and I. AM. IMPRESSED! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this modern-day version of Cinderella which took place between a penniless seamstress—Kimber—and an Italian Marchese—Matteo. The story was complete with the bratty stepsisters—Cornelia and Beans—and ‘frigid’ stepmother. While reading this humorous, sweet, second chance romance, I quickly realized nothing was as it seemed.

As a jilted bride, Kimber is quick to throw disdain at the handsome man who attempts to pick her up in the AmEx Lounge at the airport. But little does she know that the man who gives up his seat—so that she can return home to her dying father—is going to send her world spinning on its axes. The attraction is instantaneous, even if Kimber repeatedly and venomously denies it to herself and Matteo. The story starts off with a delicious enemies-to-lovers vibe that set the stage for a truly entertaining romance. I already purchased the other two books in the Slow Burn Series because I can’t wait to read more of J.T. Geissinger’s fresh take on these classic fairytales. I loved how easy it was to dive into the story—its pace kept me entertained from start to finish—and how effortlessly the characters endeared themselves to me. Kimber is a spunky, destroyed woman at the start of the book, but she never loses her sarcastic streak or feistiness. And Matteo was completely swoon worthy from the start. Both characters—and the secondary characters for that matter—had me absolutely cracking up with their antics and banter. And the heat? WOW! The chemistry between Kimber and Matteo is apparent from their first encounter.

I highly recommend Ache for You as I really loved everything about the story. I can tell you that since it’s the third book in the Slow Burn Series, and I have not read the previously written books, you can absolutely read this as a standalone romance. I can’t wait to have the chance to dive into another book by J. T. Geissinger.
