Wow! WOW! The Heartless Boyfriend was simply outstanding. I’ve only had the privilege of reading one other book by Erika Kelly—which just so happens to be The World’s Worst Boyfriend—and I can’t tell you just how much I loved this story! I was consumed by The Heartless Boyfriend… So totally wrapped up in the story that it was sunup before I even realized the night had passed me by. And I am positive that readers will find themselves just as wrapped up in The Heartless Boyfriend should they pick it up. Putting my own spin on the synopsis would do this book a complete disservice, so I won’t bother. Yes, this book is part of a series. However, I will tell you that if you have not read the first book in the series, you can still pick up The Heartless Boyfriend and read it as a complete standalone.

I loved everything about The Heartless Boyfriend. The plot was unique, unpredictable and fun. It’s full of emotions and unputdownable! The characters—Will and Delilah—were well thought out and you can’t help but love them. Their chemistry was immediate, even if they didn’t see it for what it was for the LONGEST time… Yes, The Heartless Boyfriend was a bit of a slow burn, but it was oh soooooo worth the wait! I loved the character growth that Will and Delilah demonstrate. It serves two purposes. They grow individually and show an excellent level of character progression. Then, they also grow into their relationship in a realistic fashion making the story believable. I was expecting something so much different with a title like The Heartless Boyfriend… only Will is anything but heartless. As a matter of fact, his heart is huge, and the title refers to his upbringing. The emotions of this book had me all over the place but in the best way possible. The Heartless Boyfriend is angsty, sweet, sexy and so much more.

Erika Kelly is EXTREMELY gifted. Her storytelling abilities are exceptional and while I am still relatively new to her, I am an avid reader and have found nothing quite like this series. I was extremely impressed with the first book in the Bad Boyfriend series, so I jumped all over the chance to read and review The Heartless Boyfriend through my blog. Usually series romances have certain books that far surpass the others for me for one reason or another. Yet, that couldn’t have been farther from the truth with regard to The World’s Worst Boyfriend and The Heartless Boyfriend. These books were literally neck and neck with each other making a clear choice between them impossible. Furthermore, these two books were without a doubt 2 of my favorite reads of 2018. Erika Kelly’s writing is very fluid and concise, and it truly doesn’t surprise me that she’s an award-winning author. If you have yet to read a story that she’s written, you really are missing out. I don’t often tell readers to forgo reviews altogether and just buy a book, but The Heartless boyfriend is one that I would place heavy emphasis to do just that. You can’t go wrong with The Heartless Boyfriend if you are looking for an outstanding sports romance, a new author, or just something that is sure to be a five-star read—because The Heartless Boyfriend is all that and so much more… Why wait any longer to discover the magic within the pages of an amazing story?
