My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Rock My Heart was my first book by Stephanie Julian. This enemies-to-lovers, sexy read was the fifth book in Stephanie’s ‘Salon Games’ series. I am a sucker for rockstar romances and requested to read and review this book because I was intrigued. Rock My Heart is about a rockstar, Baz, who’s putting his life together after an accidental overdose. As the personal assistant to the head of a film studio, Tru has her life organized and her future planned and set in stone. When the chance to write a score for a major motion picture brings the pair together, they can’t stand one another, and their contempt grows until it explodes into passion. The chemistry suddenly flips and ignites a romance that neither Baz or Tru saw coming.
As my first read by this author, I must stay I enjoyed Rock My Heart. The story kept me entertained and the plot was fairly fast paced. I also really enjoyed Baz, but then again, I am a rockstar romance junky. I wasn’t totally sold on Tru… she left me a little cold if I am being honest. But I loved the heat that the pair felt for one another. I love Enemies-to-Lovers romance as well – it’s smoking hot and this one was no exception. The “Salon Games” and the secondary characters of Rock My Heart had me incredibly curious about the other books in the series, as apparently, they each have their own books. Discovering this at the end of the book, I decided to one-click the first book in the series, so I could get more of the steamy side of things. Plus, I enjoyed that this story jumped right in without extensive backstory. The drama between the Baz and Tru starts on page one. Rock My Heart was a quick sexy ready that I’d recommend to lovers of contemporary, rockstar romances.
