My Rating: 5+++ Stars out of 5 Stars

Kate Stewart is an amazing author. I finished Someone Else’s Ocean and was completely mind-blown by the perfection of the story and the characters. Now, if you follow my blog, you likely already know I am a fan of several of Kate’s previous books and I truly wasn’t expecting to find Someone Else’s Ocean to be less than a 5-star read. But this one? This one is more than a 5-star read in my opinion. Someone Else’s Ocean just resonated with me. Days after I finished I was still struggling to put into words how affected I was by the story and the characters. I would urge you, most ardently to buy this book now and start reading, I won’t even bother with reviews because it’s that good. Now, I will still be writing one, because I have to find a way to voice just why this book affected me so strongly, but this is one that I can guarantee that you will not walk away unscathed.

As I stated above, Someone Else’s Ocean resonated deeply with me. The story is phenomenal and it’s beautifully written. Kate Stewart is gifted in drawing readers into her work and I was utterly captivated by many facets of the story including: the realistic nature of the romance, the angst, the intensity, and the asshole 😉 … Yes, yes, that last factor is really important to me in my Book Boyfriends, but more on that in a minute. While I rarely comment on cover art in my reviews, I absolutely have to address this one. I found the cover art for Someone Else’s Ocean stunning, original and the most perfect representation of this story that Kate Stewart could have chosen. I won’t attempt to restate a blurb that I found intriguing from the start, I honestly couldn’t do it justice if I tried. The story takes place in St. Thomas – a beautiful island romance released during the summer is definitely smart marketing. Also, readers really getting in touch with both the hero and heroine in this Duel Perspectives story. The depth of the angst and intensity of the story is heightened with the duel perspectives. Additionally, it’s my favorite plot that Kate Stewart has delivered to date (of those I’ve read) as well as my favorite characters: Ian and Koti. There is absolutely no denying just how well paced the story is and how exquisitely the plot unfolds. Someone Else’s Ocean is one hell of a delicious the slow burn, enemies-to-lovers romance that ignited my kindle and me repeatedly.

“…what I saw in those eyes of yours the day you got here is the worst pain I’ve ever witnessed…”

Now, with all that said, lets talk about the characters, Ian and Koti. It’s no secret that I love an asshole, and Ian is DEFINITELY an asshole! Without a doubt he’s one of my favorites so far. A large part of his appeal to me as a book boyfriend stems from just how deeply he feels and his dominance in the bedroom. (It was soooo freaking hot!!!) While you’re reading the story, you’ll absolutely understand Ian’s reasons for keeping Koti as far away as possible as his past has left him in ashes and is so utterly heartbreaking that I cried repeatedly throughout the book. I have never experienced pain as deeply as what Ian faces in this story – the way Kate Stewart wrote his pain had an intensity that stole my breath. Koti had the same draw to me, even though I wasn’t as heartbroken over the event that drove her to the island. Instead, I really found common ground with her over the several of the other issues that she must overcome. By the time you finish Someone Else’s Ocean, you too will have to give Kate Stewart serious kudos for the character progression in this particular story. Now, while I have not read every single book written by Kate Stewart to date, of those I have read, Ian and Koti have the best chemistry and sexy times! And while I can’t speak for all readers, I can say that I personally read romance for the heat factor! As such, I strongly advise you to have extra batteries on hand, and I would tell you that you’re going to need extra panties and a cold shower… but by all means, don’t take my words for it, find out for yourself just how well Kate Stewart delivers on the aforementioned heat 😉

This review is already longer than I’d like, and I could go on farther with points that made me fall so helplessly in love with Someone Else’s Ocean. But I don’t want to do that, I want you to experience the story for yourself. If this book is the first you’ve read by Kate Stewart, you will absolutely understand why I am grabbing up her backstock as quickly as I can clear my schedule between commitments made for my blog. Someone Else’s Ocean is deserving of far more than a 5-Star review, and it pains me deeply that I can’t give it one!! Someone Else’s Ocean was PHENOMENAL and you should one-click it immediately!!!
