This was my first Nicky Fox book and I must say, I was impressed. The story was pretty original. Andy and Dylan are co-workers. A series of events leads Dylan to start his own Accounting company and he brings Andy on to work in an HR capacity. Andy and Dylan are complete opposites and really rub each other wrong from day one. Yet under the surface, they both burn for the other person.
Between the Spreadsheets is a contemporary romance with an enemies-to-lovers vibe. I wouldn’t really classify it as that though because the characters didn’t hate each other. Instead they used distain and traded barbs with one another to camouflage their instant attraction. It’s written in duel perspectives. As a quick read, the plot progressed fairly fast and really, I didn’t feel like any one scene was dragging on. Andy and Dylan really had great chemistry and as the story progresses, the romance got smoking hot. As hot as they were together, they also had me cracking up at moments with the banter they exchanged. Both characters were extremely enjoyable in their own right but honestly their combination is what sold me on the story. When it came to relationships, neither of them could get their shit together until it’s almost too late making their relationship slightly more realistic then other romances. I plan to read more by Nicky Fox and would definitely recommend this story as a 4-star read since I thoroughly enjoyed Between the Spreadsheets!
