descriptionHero by Lauren Rowe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As a first-time reader of Lauren Rowe, I went into Hero with a completely open mind. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought I would walk away from Hero with a new favorite first responder romance. But I did, and I was truly blown away by Lauren Rowe’s storytelling abilities!!! Hero is simply outstanding. Colby, a firefighter, is gravely injured after attempting to save an infant during a house fire. His injuries leave him needing extensive physical therapy and Lydia is assigned to his case. The spark between the two is instant and consuming. Colby recognizes that Lydia is nothing short of his soulmate. While Lydia’s attraction to Colby is just as strong, her past becomes an obstacle for the pair. This is absolutely a story that you don’t want to miss. Forget reading my review, just buy the book. 😉

Lauren Rowe’s Hero is incredibly well written. The story is told in duel perspectives, so readers will grow as attached to the characters as I did. This attachment will absolutely extend to the secondary characters. I can’t wait to see more books in this series. Also, readers should expect to feel a wide range of emotions. One minute you might be teary and the next you might be cracking up. The angst is well tempered with sizzle and comedy. I loved the Morgan family dynamics. Colby is the oldest of 5 children and his concern for his family is one of my favorite things about him. His intensity and desire for a large family of his own drives him to pursue Lydia relentlessly. Lydia is a single mother who has suffered immense loss. Yet, the more time she spends with Colby, the deeper she falls under his spell. Together the two will cause your kindles to catch fire… Colby and Lydia’s relationship is scorching hot and sweet at the same time. I loved the evolution of their story and am sure you will too.

No joke, I hadn’t even finished the first chapter and I was already completely captivated by the story. The chemistry between Colby and Lydia, the emotional nature of this story and dynamics of their relationship was second to none. Realistically Lauren Rowe wrote an explosive second chance romance that I expect everyone to be talking about. Hero is a standalone novel, but I expect to see the other Morgan family members in their own stories in the near future. Do yourself a favor and buy this book immediately – it’s nothing short of specular!
