Just One Night by Charity Ferrell
At some point in our lives, we have all felt like we came in second best to something. Harnessing these emotions and weaving them deeply into the plot of her latest work, Charity Ferrell’s Just One Night is positively genius. Ferrell’s story centers around Willow Andrews drunken decision to sleep with Dallas Barnes. Two broken souls seeking comfort from one another for just one night. No one wants to be woken up with their bedfellow’s bellow of “What the f*ck have I done?” and Willow is no different. Her only response is to get out of and away from Dallas as quickly as possible. Now, three months later, there is no denying the consequences of that one night of debauchery. While finding herself pregnant after a one-night stand was not in Willow’s plans, she couldn’t have asked for a better man than Dallas to share parenting responsibilities with. Already a father to six-year-old Maven, Dallas embraces his connection to Willow even though he hasn’t got a clue what the future holds.
Just One Night is truly a beautiful second-chance romance that brings out all the feels. Willow and Dallas have a connection to one another that is uber sexy, intricate and heartbreaking all in the same breath. The chemistry between Willow and Dallas was extremely well written…it practically jumped off the pages of this story. How the two were able to conduct a one-night sand in such a small town without being caught is quite interesting. Having lived in small towns myself, this was one area that I found slightly imperfect Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Charity Ferrell’s Just One Night is well written, with a solid plot that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. I love when you can read a story and get lost in the words without getting sidetracked by excessive spelling or grammatical errors. Ferrell’s Just One Night was just such a story. As an avid reader, blogger, and editor, I can tell you that these books are definitely in short supply and when I find them, I am even more grateful. I loved all the characters in this story, even the secondary characters who play a lessor part in this story; as a follow up to their own book, Make Me Yours, readers will get reacquainted with Hudson and Stella. I will admit I am curious as to whether Ferrell will write Maven’s story at some point because she totally stole my heart! Ferrell does an excellent job of balancing the angst and heartache with the sweet and sexy in Just One Night.
