Welcome to Spellbound Stories Book Blog and Danielle Leigh Author Services! I am the fearless leader of this website. As an avid reader — someone who regularly finishes a book a day — it just made sense to share my opinions with y’all! I have read endlessly since I first learned eons ago, and since I have a lot of insight into this incredible new world that’s arisen since e-readers became the go-to method for publication, I’ll be sharing my opinions here regularly!

A little about me: I’m a coffee-oholic as well as a wife and mother. My days start with an Americano and usually my children fighting and end with a book — always! My children are young and keep me extremely busy but I still manage to drag my kindle with me everywhere and anywhere I go. It’s no joke that since I got my first e-reader 9 years ago that I have become quite obsessive with the books I buy — and all too often my credit card is sorely abused!

I always knew I’d show my kids that getting lost in an amazing story took you from the realities of life and catapulted you to moon and stars. My oldest son now experiences the same love of reading that I always had as a child and my younger two aren’t far behind. I continue to show and support the importance of Books in our daily lives.

Aside from my children, I am married to an incredible man that gave me my very own Happily Ever After. Fairytales do exist and I live my own on a daily basis. My husband is often quiet and reserved, but he is also my strongest supporter and loves to make me smile.  He’s the reason that I decided going back to work wasn’t what I truly wanted to do with my life when we were done having children and he’s taken on so much of the chores that are a part of our daily lives to allow me the opportunity to build my dream job from the ground up. I am passionate about manuscript publishing and breaking into the industry as a book blogger eventually led to becoming a Personal Assistant for many authors on their journeys. It also allows me to use my education to do manuscript editing and in a roundabout way, it allowed me to undertake courses in graphic design. My husband doesn’t share my love of reading, but his love for me was strong enough that helping me achieve my goals became a priority in our marriage.

Now, we work together to teach our boys the importance of the written word…and not a day passes that our boys don’t read to us or get read to!! Whether it’s their current favorites — the Marvel and D.C. realms or the Winds of Fire series; Dr. Suess; Rick Riordan; J.K. Rowling; or I Love You Stinky Face, my boys beg for trips to our local bookstore at every turn. I even use books as a substitute for earning a monetary allowance! And while I tend to stick predominately with romances, I’ve read everything from classic literature to autobiographies at one point or another.  Currently, I binge-read many indie and traditionally published authors and find myself most drawn to romances that fall within the following tropes:

  • contemporary
  • new adult/young adult
  • dark
  • suspense
  • bully
  • rockstar
  • second-chance
  • enemies to lovers
  • friends to lovers
  • military
  • love triangle
  • reverse harem
  • taboo or forbidden
